Well Now They Often Call Me Speedo, 'cause I Don't Believe In Wastin' Time

G-man had a soccer playoff game near Dallas today. They lost 1-2, so their season is over. Maddie had her last basketball games of the year today. They won their first one, and lost the second in Overtime. They both played well and said they were not glad the season was over. Now it's on to track and baseball season.

Tonight Maddie went to see the movie, Toothfairy. It starred Dewayne "the Rock" Johnson. His dad, Rocky Johnson was one of my favorite wrestlers. In this picture, "Soulman" Rocky Johnson is fighting the "Wild Samoan."

G-man went to the Sadie Hawkins Dance tonight. An American folk event, Sadie Hawkins Day is a pseudo-holiday that originated in the classic hillbilly comic strip, Li'l Abner. Unlike other dances, where they guys ask the girls to the dance, the Sadie Hawkins tradition is observed in the form of dances at which girls approach (or chase after) boys.

Now days almost every event has an "afterparty." I don't know when this became the norm, but it seems that a smaller group, usually by class (grade level) gather at someone's house where the parents have arranged food and more socializing. It sounds like a good idea. There are usually lots of parents there chaperoning disguised as servers for the party. Sissy has attended a few of the afterparties.
