All In All Its Just Another Brick In The Wall

The kids got up early today and went to school with Markus' and Almut's kids. They had enough time to shower and get breakfast before getting downstairs by 7:25. The boys are going with Justus and Louisa. (They just thought they were through with school for the summer, they should get extra-credit.)

Maddie is going with Lina. Almut commented this morning on how organized Maddie is. Her mother never can believe that when people say it. A while back she got the most organized award in school and Mom was surprised. She is also easier to wake up than the boys. But she's sleeping downstairs, so Almut must have woken her up today.

Knowing we had to be up early, I set two alarms for this morning. However, the Sunrise here in Berlin for June 3rd was 4:48 AM. I woke up at 10 'til 5 AM and it felt like 7:30. I didn't need the alarm. I have been doing that since we got here. The Sunset here in Berlin is 9:22 PM. That is 16 hours and 33 minutes of sunshine. We have definitely been getting our money's worth out of the daylight hours. 

My sleeping pattern has not been consistent here. I have slept good at times while we've been here. Its just seems like a series of naps instead of normal sleep. I don't think I will have much trouble getting back to US Central Time.

The last couple of days the kids have been a little homesick. But yesterday evening when I was talking to them, they are realizing the trip is almost over. They agreed they were really going to miss this place and their new friends. Time is getting short for our trip. After today, we just have Thursday downtown, and we wake up very early Friday (the early sunrise will help) and we are on our way back.
