What kind of cat facilitates a chemical reaction?

The school had the 6th grade field day today. Maddie competed in 3 events and won 1st in all of them. She jumped 12'-8" in the long jump. She ran the mile in 7 min. 20 sec. She ran the 100 m dash in 14.9 sec. G-man and some other 8th graders helped with timing and measuring.

Maddie and I heard a commercial on the AM station the other day talking about a Stay-cation. Maddie said that neologism seems SO last year, and we decided we needed to create our own new word and see if we can get it into the popular culture.  (We got this idea from a song we heard several years ago on KidsXM Radio called "What kind of Cat are you?" I think its a great song.) See if you can guess what these experimental new words are:
  1. Time off in the Fall to do yard work
  2. The time college students have between the Spring Term and Summer School 1
  3. Taking time to cook cakes and cookies
  4. Going to eat beef
  5. Time to hunt male ducks
  6. Only a 24 hour hiatus
  7. Just talking about a vacation, but not actually taking it
  8. Going skiing, tubing, or sunbathing
The answers are below:
  1. Rake-ation
  2. May-cation
  3. Bake-ation (or Maddie says a Cake-ation)
  4. Steak-ation
  5. Drake-ation (This is for Uncle Brian)
  6. Day-cation (This is Sissy's favorite kind)
  7. Say-cation (or Maddie says a Fake-ation)
  8. Lake-ation (Maddie and G-man think of my Aunt's lake house on this one)
